Wow of the Week: the zoo!

I was hoping to have a picture of an honest-to-golly homegrown tomato for you, but a squirrel decided to stop by the buffet. Oh, well. That's what happens when you turn your yard into a critter sanctuary. They drop pecans at the door, so it's a fair trade.

This week's "wow" is brought to you by the letter "F". Flamingo! Also "C" for cell phone photography...

We took Junior to the zoo and were met by this long-legged fellow in the rainforest dome. Junior greeted him with enthusiasm.

"PAMINDO!"

"That's right, kiddo. A pink flamingo."

"Peenk pamindo."

I think the Arctic Fox was mildly insulted to be called a "puppy goggie", but the bald eagles were content to be referred to as "boodies".

What's YOUR wow?

  1. Cute, a pink pamindo! My son used to call beavers "woodpeckers." When you think about it, it makes sense.

  2. That's so cute. My one and a half year old granddaughter calls her stuffed bunny a "bot" which I think is short for rabbot. :)
